This summer is one for the books.
Our Summer Road Trip
'and then I realized,adventures are the best way to learn.'
Almost a month since we packed our bags and headed South, for a quick twelve days. Minnesota was the destination, with a layover in Seattle. We pondered the idea of a road trip, then heard the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was going on, in just about the same area we wanted to head. We talked to people, we heard it might be crazy or possibly not at all, and then we went. We drove from Minnesota, headed from one side of South Dakota to the other, then made the same return. In between the miles, we saw incredible sites. Ones I want to see again. It felt like the wild west, the wide open prairie. It was beautiful. We got rained on, we drove by lighting, we went to sleep to the sound of thunder. Then we returned for a hot day at the lake, before heading home. It was way too quick, a whirlwind, and has us all longing for more. Road trips are awesome.

I'm preparing this post a short six days before school starts.Not ready for the routine- the early mornings, the lunches packed, the homework, the cooler weather.
Already missing our summer. It was a good one, maybe one of the best.
