'Look, I'm a ballerina!' And she danced around the rest of the afternoon, barely missing table corners and window trims, and warmly welcomed by the floor, over and over again. Brushing it all aside, she kept dancing. Continue on with Elise.
10-on-10: September
We weren't so ready to give up summer, but with the slight bit of crisp in the morning air and the yellows and oranges vibrantly taking over the trees, it's been a smooth transition.
The rain broke yesterday afternoon, and we headed outside for some garden greens for dinner, which turned into 30 minutes of fresh air.
It was good.
Be sure to continue the circle with Jen (she saw things) down in Portland- her images floor me, every.single.time.
10-on-10: August
'A little rain and a little sunand a little pearly dew and a pushing up and a reaching out. Then leaves and tendrils all about!' -Children's Song, 1800s
We grew stuff, and it's exciting. Big plans and little knowledge is how we jumped in, and we're chowing down on fresh lettuce, kale and broccoli, with lots more to soon join our dinner table.
Our experimental year has been a success.
10-on-10: July
I haven't documented a full-day since starting this year's 10-on-10 project. While I've so enjoyed the variety in sharing our 10-ish images; I realized I missed the day I'd document the bits and pieces, throughout 12 or so hours. So this month, that's what I did. This is the 9th.
1. Good morning, the kids are still sleeping.
2. Pie for breakfast...and some cheerios for dessert.
3. Auntie's for lunch.
4. The channel.
5. Time to go.
6. Swimming, before swim lessons.
7. Home, after a long day away.
8. New record player (my awesome birthday present).
9. Tonight, he lost his very first tooth!
10. A game of Sorry before bedtime.
Be sure to follow through our circle, next up is the lovely Elise with Finn Photography.
10-on-10: June
'here comes the sun' - The Beatles
Can't you hear it? Can't you feel the beat?
Come on, little darling, you must say yes!
Because summer is here, the sun is out,
and even if it's not shining,
you can still see the glow of the season in the faces of the children.
Yes! it's summertime, and the living is easy.
late nights, warm fires, cold drinks, lots of yard work, new swings up, old swings gone, remodeling, repurposing, rearranging.
Little darling, this is the stuff dreams are made of.
Summer!
Now head down to California, to the amazing Bethany Petrik!
10-on-10: May
here I am, weaving a path between pride and exhaustion. with sticky fingers, wrapped around my neck. dirty kisses planted on my cheek. bony bottoms softly wedged into my thigh. laughter echoing between us. curiosity glowing in six bright eyes. confidence beaming in their strong steps. amazement and awe wrapping its arms around me.
heavy eyelids sneaking an extended blink- we balance. arms out, one foot in front of the other, we balance well. & then we look at each other and we know. I am here, children. here I am, in motherhood.
happy mother's day. thank you, my three, for making me a mother.
now pop on over to the wonderful Annie Otzen.
